taehyung from the very beginning hates how discriminated omegas are for their secondary gender and all his life he’s been told to just find a good alpha, settle down, and make a family. while not opposed to having a family of his own one day, taehyung would rather focus on his dream career: becoming an editor.
after two years following college, despite being top of his class and the perfect candidate for all the jobs he’s applied for, companies refuse to hire him solely because he’s an omega. tired of being rejected from jobs he’s more than capable of doing, taehyung decides to lie on his application, saying he’s a beta. he’s overjoyed when he’s hired not too long after by an elite company to be a secretary for the CEO’s nephew who’s taking over the position.
it isn’t long before taehyung takes a liking to a lot more than just his job.
you guys can hate me all you want, but i’m actually a sucker for omegaverse!aus 👉🏻👈🏻 they don’t have to be fantasy though, which this one isn’t :) in case that might turn anyone away.
for those of you who aren’t familiar with the omegaverse, it’s very similar to just a normal reality !au with the exception of everyone having what are called “secondary genders”. they are as follows: alpha, beta, and omega, similar to the ranks in packs of wolves. the people in omegaverse!aus, however, aren’t always werewolves. in fact, more often than not, they’re just normal people for the most part, with the exception of a couple things. first of all, they have a much better sense of smell which is used to smell another person’s pheromones (those vary depending on the person’s secondary gender) and is used mainly just for attraction purposes. alphas and omegas attract each other and betas are attracted to each other. some authors, may take these genders into more detail by also labeling characters as true, sub, or dom. a great example of this is in the webtoon, “Our Omega Leadernim” by .MIJIN. (highly recommend). secondly, those in the omegeverse experience heats and ruts just like most animals.
anyways, i really liked this story🥺 and if any of you have the slightest interest in it, i recommend it:)
